PARANOID about yesterday's networking dinner

Long story short, I had a networking dinner last night. It was a really good opportunity and I thought it went well, except for one aspect.

I spoke to employer 1 and showed great interest. It went very well. It was very conversational and we concluded talking about internship opportunities. We then exchanged contacts as I handed him my resume and him giving me his business card. Perfect.

Right after that, I jumped over to other table because I was very interested in another employer as well. So employer #2 comes in to play this time and I pretty much acted the same way as I did to the 1st employer. I showed high interest in an opportunity with his company. Once again, it went very well and we concluded the same way as we exchanged contact information. Right after this, I turned around and noticed that employer #1 was sitting in the back and I was totally visible. I didn't catch him looking at me, but I can assume that he saw me talking to employer #2.

My question is, do you think I gave him a bad impression as if I was hopping over tables to get a job? To be honest, I spoke to only 2 employers, but that's besides the point. What do you guys think? Am I just being paranoid here?

Serious comments needed. I'd appreciate it.

It's a NETWORKING dinner, why would you go and just talk to one person, unless of course that person had you sign a contract before dessert. You did what you're supposed to do, stop worrying. It might even make employer 1 think you are more desirable.

"It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous. "

You did exactly the right thing. Stop losing sleep, enjoy life, and grab a beer or two tonight. Expect a callback. :D

As a college student, it's very natural to second-guess yourself, to focus on minor flubs and cringe and want to bang your head against the wall. Actually, seasoned professionals sometimes do it, too- it's part of being human- or at least part of being a STEM major. As you get older, you learn to spend less time getting down on yourself, but I'm not sure the feeling ever goes away.
