I am currently deciding between a prospective top product group at BAML vs an industry group at GS
Both are amazing institutions and have really smart people working there. For culture, I'm happy with both, BAML people seemed a bit more approachable.
Anyone went through a similar decision process? Would really appreciate some thoughts.

Try to see which position fits best with your longer-term plans (if you have any). If you're going for a 2+2 into PE, for example, try to see which position gives you the largest deal exposure.

This is for SA, and at BAML I would potentially get a top group (m&a, fsg etc). Looking long term I am planning on exiting to a megafund, so I am wondering which option would position me better for recruiting.

As both are great firms, I would pick the one where I think people are more approachable, as they will be more enclined to help you and you will build a better relationship with them on a day-to-day basis. Both firms place very well in megafunds, so you are well set.
Go with GS coverage unless you really don't fit in. You will do lots of modeling there too. The standard is very slightly higher at GS so the hiring signaling will work in your favor when you do recruiting
