Perella Weinberg - PE Teams

A friend of mine (really, not me) has been presented with the opportunity to join one of the private equity teams at Perella Weinberg. He's been at his current position only 8 months with a smaller firm in London. He's not executing many deals in his current role, and the leap to Perella would be an increase in deals, pay, plus a title change from analyst to associate.

I know PW was founded by the ex-Morgan Stanley/Goldman bigwigs, but aside from the webpage we can't find any information on the reputation of the firm or info on exit opps down the road. Does anyone have any commentary??

This board is agreat resource - I'm interested in hearing everyone's thoughts.

I don't know too much about them, but I know that PW is a very well respected name. I think that it would be a good move for him and will definitely increase his exit opps over where he is now.

Go for it! (your friend of course)

Strange he got a promo to an assoc position after only being in his current role for 8mos. Does he have experience prior to his current role?

Nice. analyst to associate + increase in pay/prestige, with only 8 months. Im not in banking (yet :P) but that sounds sick.
