Pets in Investment Banking
Currently a college senior, thinking about getting a cat once I come back from college. I love pets and I’m finally in the financial situation to be able to afford a cat, and I know I’ll have time to watch it during the school year, but knowing the long hours of IB I’m worried that I might not have enough time once I graduate. Is getting a cat a bad idea?
That cat will have trouble surviving with the amount of hours you’ll be in the office
Even with an auto feeder/ water fountain?
Cats are super chill and low-maintenance (but does vary slightly by breed from what I know). Having had one before, I can't see how you wouldn't have time to take care of a cat even with IB hours. You just have to give them enough food/water and clean their box daily, which takes very little time, with occasional trips to the vet / groomer.
Might be worth investing in an auto feeder
BAML has dog walking events kind of cool
A cat should be fine, although will probably take longer than normal for the two of you to bond.
How are you verified as An1 and you say you're a senior
I’m not sure
I have a cat. Cats are lit. Get one.
Can also consider getting two cats for them to keep each other company. They’ll do alright - I travel a decent bit and my cat got used to it.
