Picking a Private Bank

1:

Essentially its a 6 weeks training programme in London followed by three rotations, with one most likely in Switzerland so one gets to learn the Swiss PB - which is supposedly first class. Exposure to various roles and locations. Personally I quite like the firm culture a lot. So the training programmes last about 20 months before permanently based in a location and function

Most of the people I met told me that JPM invest alot on their employees, but the thing is that the programme seemed to me that it is basically a GAM 7 week training before I work for 3 years. Role Nature: Provides advisory services, trade execution and implementation for all client investment needs etc.

My fear is that I'll be doing lots of admin work in the first few years given that the firm deals with UHNWI and that I'm a really no one other than an administrator - Spoke with an ED and she said you have to be really patient.. seems like I have to be an Associate before I will be able to see clients?

Thank you so much for taking your time to read this. Happy new year :)

I have a friend who is in PB at JPM in New York and he seems to be very happy with his position. That being said, while I don't know much about PB, from the descriptions above, the HSBC opportunity sounds most interesting as far as location and opportunity.
