Piper Sandler London

Any thoughts on the firm?

Strong MM in the US and more of a boutique in London from what I’m reading. Any info on comp, culture for juniors, coverage teams, deal flow and exits for Analysts or OC/SA interns?

Teams in London are Chemicals (formerly Valence Group, advised on some of the largest LBOs in history), Healthcare (mainly Healthcare Services, but note Piper is incredibly strong in diagnostics in the US), Consumer (formerly Stanford Partners, do a lot of LMM food and Bev), Energy and FIG. Chemicals is the best team with a strong reputation, culture is average/below-average in most teams with long hours. Healthcare very European. Think they pay above-street, would say Healthcare and Chemicals are a lot stronger than the other mentioned teams.

thank you for the insight! I recently got a summer analyst offer, they only had one position, and I am ranking teams. do you think healthcare and chemicals are good teams given they look more for deal value than volume?

I wonder if it matters in terms of exits as a summer analyst
