Interesting.. sounds counterintuitive if no mandates but sweaty af? Is it just understaffed or tons of pitching?

No mandates = pitching ad eternum.
@OP did you hear back from the recruiter for this role already?
From what I heard (friend who works in a different pod at PJT), it's relatively pitch-heavy with very few mandates won to back it up. Definitely not on par with the top consumer retail groups (MS, GS, BofA, LAZ). That said, comp is excellent and the firm is in a growth mode, so that team might pick up in credentials sooner or later
What are the pods at PJT?
Groups / practices (Consumer, Healthcare, Media, etc)
Definitely not the point of this thread, but would you really put MS in that group over JPM?
Don't think JPM has a stong C&R practice. I believe business services is also co-mingled there. Regardless, MS, GS, Citi and BofA are considered top BBs in the space but you're really splitting hairs here
