Playing favorites
Any advice on how to deal with a boss who clearly plays favorites (in case it's not obvious, I am not the favorite in this scenario). I don't really know what else to do except just keep a positive attitude and stay pleasant. I feel like even if I go out of my way to impress said boss, it will not make an impact. They clearly already have a distinct vision of who they like and who they don't like.
The only part that sucks is that if I make a mistake, they will blow up at me. If the "favorite" makes the exact same mistake, he won't even get scolded at all.
