PLEASE HELP!! How did you guys do it and what am I doing wrong?

(Junior here applying for SA positions from semi-target)

• Met the MD of an elite boutique at my school. Enjoyed talking to him and he said to follow-up.

• Organized info interview - "you got an impressive resume, Ambani. happy to help!"

• Said thanks. He replied positively and asked to stay in touch.

After

• Emailed "how could I best position myself to secure an interview" etc.

• Ignored.

• Follow-up.

• Ignored.

• It's been quite a while

• Same story with a couple few influential guys.

Where am I going wrong? How did you guys do it?

Yeah maybe just busy. Also, perhaps one single informational interview isn't building a positive enough relationship to make them want to help you get an interview etc. Could be wrong, so ask others, but in my personal experience opinion I haven't/wouldn't ask anyone for something like that until I knew them a little bit better. I, however, strongly prefer quality rather than quantity when networking- I'm not one of those guys with an excel spreadsheet with thousands of names on it- so take my opinion as you will.
