Please help!!Really into tight situation here

I have sent out few hundred emails and been getting few informational interviews. The conversations seems to go pretty well- I talk about their interest and why banking and stuff like that. The problem here is at the end, no one offers to pass my resume along or anything. There is no way I can get an interview without a referral. I wish they could tell me if I did something wrong so atleast I know if I am doing something wrong and how to fix it. I am losing all my hopes at this point but still going to keep trying. I don't know if I am suppose to ask them pass my resume along because it sounds pushy and might affect my relationship with them. I usually ask them to connect me with someone who I could learn from about the company and industry. Please let me know how to do the ASK. I am making 3 hour commute everyday to make these coffee chats and juggling my current internship but getting no results and it's little disappointing. I honestly don't know what to do- Please help.

Same situation

Although I ask to give feedback on my resume. Maybe if they like my resume they can send it to HR. It is not the best strategy but could work. Hope that helps. GL and keep hustling

Yes, you should.

People know why you're reaching out to them - it's not just to randomly make friends. However, you still should be asking about their recruiting process, how you can best position yourself for it, and whether they'd be willing to pass your resume up.

You sound like you've taken the right steps and just have not made the ask. If you've had all these coffee chats, re-connect on the phone and ask about the recruiting timeline and make the ask.

Definitely reconnect with everyone that you've met with in this order: 1) face to face, 2) over the phone, 3) email conversation/thread.

Reach out, and either over phone or email ask to be connected with anyone else at the bank in a relevant area of interest. Do not just reach out and ask to be connected with anyone. Say you've been doing a lot of research in FIG, or industrials, or you've been tracking some M&A deals. Ask to be connected with someone from one of those groups and they will surely send you the contact info. Every time you talk to someone, make sure to send a follow up thank you email and get contact info for a new person to talk to, so that it's cyclical.

The other piece of advice is to ask them to look at your resume for "edits". This is a good way of sending the resume without being too pushy. gl
