Popular industry groups in each city
Hi! I'm a sophomore and new to the investment banking recruiting process. I recently talked to many professionals and concluded that most Houston offices are doing energy (oil & gas), whereas the Menlo Park, San Francisco, and Pennsylvania groups are doing Healthcare (particularly biotech and pharma) and TMT. New York is generalist.
But I don't know about other cities yet, such as Chicago, Salt Lake City, New York, Dallas, Boston, Los Angeles, etc.
If possible, could anyone go through the typical industry groups in any other cities?
Actually, I wish I could know the locations of different industry sectors, but I didn't find that information on the company websites.
LA has a lot of good gaming groups as they are close to Vegas and Reno
LA is pretty generalist. Obviously C&R, media, and REGL have large presences there, but LA also has a quite a sizable Industrials, HC, and Tech presence. FSG coverage is also big given the city’s DLJ DNA.
