Post MBA Strategy Consulting to Banking (with Previous Associate Experience)
Just curious if one leaves banking 1-2 years post MBA (non-BB/EB) to join a Big 4 strategy consulting firm's strategy group focusing on M&A/ PE DD (S& Deals / Deloitte S&O) and wants to go back to banking after a year, would it be a difficult move?
Seems like a trade off as strategy consultants initially work fewer hours than bankers (60-70 hours per week tops) with little weekend work, yet post MBA bankers make 50-100% more in total comp and hours get better at VP level, while consultants continue working just as hard.
Other than the potentially better hours, not sure whether the exit opps are actually any better than an IBD Associate's?
