Pre-med student looking into investment banking for work for a few years-Looking for networking opportunities

Please advise, I am a pre-med sophomore student, who is a Biochemistry major with minors in Chemistry and Entrepreneurship at a non-target school (Virginia Tech), who has done 517 volunteer hours in high school, shadowed a doctor, conducted my own undergraduate research with a future publication, and has completed a few internships, in sales but nothing lined up for investment banking. I initially planned on going to graduate school for biomedical engineering, since Im currently taking grad classes in my schools department, prior to applying to medical school; however, my family has been unemployed for 10 months, we are paying out of state tuition, and on unemployment benefits. Being a realist, Im going to have to work for a few years to pay off my debts, and looking towards a lucrative career to pay off my debts prior to applying to graduate and medical school, even though i am working 30+ to pay for school. I need some advice, since I am currently looking into investment banking to work for a few years, its pretty hard to network with potential firms, due to my school being located in the Appalachian Mountains in rural Virginia. Are there any conferences in the summer or fall where I can network with investment bankers from top tier firms. I have been "Googling" so far, and no luck.

"I have been 'Googling' so far, and no luck."

Then you may want to "Google" harder. Also, take advantage of the many features of this site and also the material that has already been posted here. I don't mean for this to sound asshole-ish, but as a pre-med student you should have no problem doing your own research.
