Pre-University Work Experience/Internships in Investment Banking/Consulting/Corporate Law/Asset Management
I am currently studying for my A-Level "exams", and the way my school have structured exams means that I finish School on May 12th, and therefore have 4 1/2 months before I start university. Since we are still in partial lockdown, travel is unlikely, and even under normal circumstances, this is a ridiculous amount of time to do nothing, I would like to get some relevant work experience - preferably in IB or Consulting.
After spending some time looking, I have not been successful in finding any (or at least where deadlines haven't passed). Does anyone know how/where I can get some relevant work experience that would look good on my CV when applying to spring weeks?
Many forums have said that connections are the only way to do this, however most IBs and Consulting Firms are still working remote. Also, I don't have wildly impressive direct connections. I have a family friend who works in asset management, my friend's dad works for a boutique bank, and my godfather knows the CEO of McKinsey (but that connection is a stretch, not to mention Kevin Sneader won't give a sh*t about me).
If anybody knows of any schemes/ways that I can gain work experience it would be greatly appreciated.
