An international student here graduating in December. As some of you may already have suspected, I would have to start working by mid-May because of the Visa issue. (FYI, I'm a stem major.)
My initial plan was to go backpacking for 4~5 months before start working. But then I talked to several people recently (including people in my group), and they think I should actually start in Feb/Mar. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Pros (for starting early) - more deal experience - ahead of the curve in PE recruiting (I also go to non-target, and I'm 100% set on applying to top-tier MBA) - will still have about 2 months to travel - saving money from not traveling (I'm in a bit of financial constraints)
Cons - less time to enjoy freedom - 3~4 more months of banking hours
What would you do?
