Prospects of Becoming IB Analyst in Emerging Market Office

Do US IB analysts ever transition to IB roles in other countries? I'm specifically curious about the prospects of getting a role in emerging markets (India, Brazil, etc). Aside from the language barrier, any other major barriers to access? Do BB banks allow lateral transfers into a group located in another country? Would a foreign team see any benefits to having an American move onto their team?
