Pub Fin Exit Opps/Overall Thoughts

Hi guys,

Will be a Pub Fin analyst at a MM in a second/third tier city (think Minn,Philly,DC) however comp is pretty much street for first year analyst (maybe bc it’s a large bank just not great IB/Cap Markets presence). But i was just wondering how hard it would be to switch over to something else like M&A, ER, even consulting. I know pub fin is niche but am not too well versed in exit opps as it will be my first year in the industry. Also was wondering if people had thoughts on Pub Fin in general like deal flow, hours things like that. Didn’t really know what I wanted to do and was just glad to get an offer with pandemic recruiting. Any insight would be great thank you all in advance!
