Public Finance IB -> Corporate IB

Hi everyone, just finishing up my first year at a top BB as a Public Finance IB analyst. I like my team and the work is okay, but after a year I’ve realized I lack the interest in public policy to succeed/want to stay in public finance long term.

I was wondering, how doable is it to lateral internally at my firm after 2 years into a traditional IBD group?

Coverage or product, don’t really care, more so interested in dealing with corporates vs not for profit entities. Would be willing to lose a year or start over as a 1st year analyst. If anyone has made the move or knows anyone who has, would be good to hear. I know people at BB move from s&t to IB sometimes after their 2 analyst years, which I’m assuming has less skill set overlap than even PubFin IB does (knowing how to manage a deal process amongst stakeholders, prepare deliverables for client meetings, etc.)
