I interned in PubFin at a BB, so I can provide some commentary. In my group SA's worked ~60 hours, A1s worked ~70-80 hours, A2s and ASOs worked 60 - 70 hours, VPs ~60 hours, Ds ~55 hours, and MDs were anywhere from 25 hours to 50 hours.

Obviously, hours could quickly spike depending on your deal schedule, and even as a SA I had one ~95 hour week, but generally most nights only a couple of people will be on past midnight. On Fridays, most juniors would end workaround 6/7pm and will typically have a few hours of work to do Sundays, but otherwise, you will only have significant weekend work a few times per year. Overall, the hours are pretty manageable for finance and once you get past being an A1 you have a fair amount of visibility in your schedule.

Do you have any idea how much is the bonus cut? Public finance seems interesting to me and the hours seem to be manageable, but I've heard the pay is less.
