Pushing things forward

I have a really really good relationship with a vp at a bb. The vp has helped me so much with with my application and prepared me so much for the interview. The vp has not clearly said they will help me get an interview and I was wondering how can push them into referring me to hr for an interview? Any tips or steps I should take?

I did ask how to best position myself for an interview and he said this is it. I would prefer it if he could set it in stone.

Are you serious? What just say "I would be so grateful if you could refer me for an interview"? That cant be right.

That cant be right.

You're right - you should just keep beating around the bush until the VP asks you if you'd grace him/her with your presence at the firm (for guaranteed full bonus, of course).
