Hi guys I broke in from a non-target, just signed IB NYC FT 2022 at BB. Please ask any questions, I want to answer a bunch and give back. This platform was amazing for me when I was recruiting and want to give it back
What did the process of networking look like for you? I struggle with this also from a non-target because my school doesn’t have a strong alumni base in NY.
Did you just cold-LinkedIn individuals? Would love any insights you have into getting networking & being able to break through the resume screen without a target school!

Lmao I agree. Congrats on the offer but anything u could possibly ask will be searchable on WSO. It’s especially easy breaking into IB as diversity nowadays.

Agree here. Congrats to OP but unfortunately breaking into IB isn't nearly as hard as 5-10 years ago now due to analyst shortage and more buy-side firms running their own undergraduate programs now. Have seen too many "broke in from non-target AMA!" posts in the past year lmao.
