Question for Healthcare IBers

Hey monkeys, I’ve worked on some PPM deals and pitches and one thing I’ve always wondered: Why can’t individual physician practices be owned by investors but hospitals can? Maybe it’s a stupid question but I’ve never worked on a hospital deal so I have no clue Thanks!
