Question for those in Banking....
Hello all,
I've just recently discovered this board, hence my first post, so excuse me if I seem a bit out of place. I'm currently a lawyer at a nyc top 50 firm, have been for the past 3 years, however feel like I wanna try something else. It's not that I don't like my job, it's just that If I perform well I get the same amount of pay/respect as if I perform poorly. I've always been interested in banking and over the past few months have though more and more about entering the IB world as an associate. I've been reading a few of the threads, and from what I understand this is "possible" but is it "probable" that I will be able to get an associates job? I'd rather not go back and get an MBA...at least not at this point. I went to a top 5 public, and Cornell law, plus have been mainly involved in M&A during my firm activities. That all being said however I dont have much financial experience other then what I have learned at my firm. I'm going to be shopping around no matter what people on here say, but I just wanna get a feel as to if I can expect to be offered a position at a BB firm as an IB associate? Any input would be appreciated, and feel free to PM me.

there's a lot of other lawyers like you.
So what are you saying exactly? There are alot of lawyers who want to go into IB, or alot who have?

Anyone else have any insight into this? Thank you...
