Questions about Risk Management Opportunities

I'll join a BB this summer doing risk management. I'm from an ivy school, very high GPA, not a US citizen, non-finance major. From what I heard, few said anything good about middle office. Should I consider transferring to a front office position? If so, how should I do it in such a way that is effective and not offensive to my risk team?

Nobody can help make that determination with such limited information. What are your goals? What are your interests? Are you driven by $$ or prestige? Do you prefer following markets or being involved in transactions? What is your tolerance for working long hours?
