Rant: Had a phone interview with HR for BB bank, no response after 3 weeks.
Hey All,
I recently applied for a position at a BB online. Two days later HR emails me and we set up a phone interview. The interview went great because the HR rep said they needed someone quickly and with my experience I was a perfect fit. She also said she would forward my CV to the hiring manager of the team. Hell, even said she said up a video conference interview for me too. She said I should hear something within a week. Well 3 weeks has gone by and nothing. I sent her a follow up/thank you email last Monday and radio silence. It's honestly pretty frustrating that these employers are allowed to string along people. Like what's the point of not replying to an email? Just say we moved on. Sorry for the rant. I've been applying for jobs out of state for several months and hasn't gone anywhere.
HR at BB can be pretty inhuman at times. Honestly never understood why they never reply even though they seem "interested" in you.
Suck it up and move on I would say.
Same boat as me right now. Graduated from a non-target with an MBA in finance. Not hearing anything back is the worst part for sure.
Chit is competitive these days. Would rather take a auto reject email than this.

Recently had 4 in person interviews at the same firm in a span of less than 2 weeks and was told I should be hired on the spot. They loved me... that was 3 weeks ago.. haven’t heard from them since. It happens.. nothing you can do but move on.
Keep going. 7 months ago I was ghosted by a hiring manager at a great shop. I just got hired in a better group at the same shop. 4 months ago I was ghosted after final round for summer MM FAS. Got the rejection after following up 3 weeks later. Now I'm laughing bc I'm on the buy side FT and we're probably their client(but I wouldn't know, I have more important things to do now). This is of course after hundreds of applications and a lot of networking, study, and free work. Some people suck. Rise above them.
