Rate my plan B

I've had extreme misfortune in recruiting this cycle in London. Almost every single BB rejected me. I'm thinking about what I'm doing wrong, and I honestly can't figure out. I've done everything I could and it's just frustrating. I have good experience, target masters, CFA L1, and a bunch of extracurricular. Obviously I'm not saying I'm therefore entitled to working at those banks, but not even a single interview? That's something else entirely.

Eventually, I'm considering that banks are going through hire freeze and maybe that can help explain things. I'm not going to doom & gloom forever so I've come up with a plan B. I have interviews for a big 4 advisory team in valuation particularly (where I worked before the masters, but now I'm in London). My plan is - work there for a year and finish CFA, then apply for ER at BBs. Assuming I do get it, how does that sound?

I'm more into ER but this forum is the most active one
