In terms of PE exits, would Lev Fin and FIG be at a relative disadvantage compared to the other groups you mentioned? Or would exits be reasonably similar?

UK M&A is really solid too - if you’re from a UK uni go for it its a solid choice that compares easily with the top 3 teams. BAML has had decent exits from every other team recentl. HC/TMT sent 2 people to EQT, UK to a top distressed fund, LevFin to Bx, FSG to some UMMs, FIG to Anacap, C&R to some top funds, industrials to BC partners etc. The list keeps going on. Its not a shop whereby a team will have wayyy better exit than an other, its more about how you perform in the team.
