Really weird interview process....

Hi all.

Recently been interviewimg for a pretty senior position First hr call Then hr plus potential boss Third all of the above plus cfo

Then they call my references....no offer, no nothing. Now they call me and ask me to do pass a medical exam..still no offer or anything.. Is it normal to be kept in the dark like this?

Anybody had a similar thing happen to them?

Yes.

The group I interviewed with did not originally plan on having lunch with any of its candidates, but several members chased me down to the restaurant I was eating at and joined me. I was expecting an offer then. I did not get it.

Several hours later, on my way back to the airport, I received a call from the office. I was expecting an offer. I was instead asked for references.

Two days later, I was called by HR and told to fill out a compensation history and expected compensaion form.

Four days later, on a Monday, I got a call from the office with the official offer.

I've heard some funky stories about stuff like this. Apparently it's not actually funky at all... good buddy was interviewing for something way senior to anything I'm doing, and first he has an interview with some associate-level guys (two), then gets called for dinner with CFO and CIO. Next he gets asked for references. Then another interview with President of the company. Hears nothing for two weeks, then gets an official offer from an HR person via phone. Hilarious.
