Received IB interview but only 2 weeks into current job. How to explain during interview?
Background: I left a corporate finance job after less than a year because I detested the culture and work style. Now, I’m being onboarded for another corporate finance role for just two weeks. I recently received an investment banking interview and am eager to succeed. However, I’m concerned about coming across as a frequent job changer. I’ve always wanted to pursue a career in investment banking and would likely stay with this role (if accepted) long-term. If the interviewer asks about my recent job, what should I say? Should I simply avoid mentioning it altogether and just mention that I am pursuing my personal endeavors after quitting the previous job?
