Recruiting for the US as a UK graduate?

What is the quickest/best routes to get into US IB coming from the UK?

For reference I'm at a target uni in the UK (2026 Grad) and have a summer at a mm bank. Im trying to figure out what to do now for recruiting for 2026 grads if my goal is to move to US (NYC preferably) - is it easier/even feasible to attempt to recruit directly into US programmes, and how would I go about networking with US bankers? Or is it a better idea to just recruit into UK and request to internally relocate/lateral to another bank in the US?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

What are the roadblocks though - visa, citizenship etc? Or the general problems that arise by moving to a new country
