Recruiting - none of my business?

I have been working at this mid-market firm for a few years - top bucket analyst for all years and recently was promoted to associate. However, I'm puzzled by the fact that I had been seldomly involved in any of the firm's recruiting efforts ever since I joined as I was left out on even the initial resume screens on multiple occasions. Recruiting is mainly handled by the VPs and I assume it is their decision to ask for whose opinion for the initial screens or first round phone interviews. It frustrates me that I'm not part of that process on a regular basis and I feel that I'm not part of the team. What can I do?
