Regarding UK's HPI Visa

As the title of the thread says, the UK recently announced the High Potential Individual Visa which gives permission for people from a list of universities around the world to apply for a 2-year visa to look for a job. A little bit of background, I am currently an international student in Australia expected to graduate within a month, as banking opportunities in Australia are extremely limited, I'm looking for opps outside of Australia and in my home country as well. My school happens to be the only eligible Australian university on the list, so I'm quite interested in this program. Since I'm a final year student, I recognize that I won't be able to apply and get into banking through the conventional pathway such as Spring Week and Summer Analyst, etc. Hence, what would be a suitable alternative pathway for me to take? I've had some experience interning in PE and IB in my home country and I was thinking of trying to break into Big4 advisory first and then work my way up into banking in the UK from there. Thank you all!
