Researching for interviews

Hi,

I did some searches on WSO but could not find the answer I was looking for.

I was wondering, how does someone go about researching an investment bank which they are going to be speaking with? What are people's methods for gathering information?

I have tried searching WSO for information but everyone seems concerned about the bank's compensation and hours for the most part.

So basically, is there a method that some of you employ when you land an interview or want to learn more about a bank? (league tables, WSO, news articles or something)?

For example, how would I go about learning more about Cowen so that I might be prepared to answer a question if a Cowen MD asks, "what do you know about us, or our groups?"

Thanks guys.

PIEalso research the interviewers

I've found LinkedIn to be a great resource if you know who'll be interviewing you. The site often will show past work experience, university's attended, etc.

For example, on a past interview I did some research and discovered that my interviewer used to be in the marines. So in the interview I tried to be very direct and to the point, used "sir" a lot, etc.
