Resources for lateral recruiting?

currently an analyst a middle market bank and have been interviewing for lateral positions at both BB + EBs. have got my foot in the door multiple times but some how always seem to miss one or two technicals. Anyone have good prep materials for technicals aside from the classic intern banking guides like BIWS?

not tryna go back to the 400Q like a sophomore lol but clearly whatever I'm doing isn't enough. Specifically been getting tripped up on the harder merger mechanics questions and anything lbo related that goes beyond a basic paper lbo

am involved in analyst recruiting. you need to make sure you know your deals and story well in addition to technicals. Alot is about team fit too that you have to keep in mind. Nevertheless storng technicals especially at EB is very very important

lateraled from mm to eb about a year ago so take this w a grain of salt bc the market was better then. that said the fundamentals of lateral recruiting havent changed. know your deals inside and out, not just what the deal was but what YOU actually did on it. practice saying it out loud bc theres a huge difference between knowing your story in your head and actually articulating it under pressure

technicals wise this isnt SA recruiting anymore. expect harder stuff, m&a accounting, purchase price allocation mechanics, stuff like that. id recommend going thru whatever PE guide the banks have and well known resources like marginofalpha for reps. also talk to people on the team youre targeting before your interview. if someone on the desk already knows your name and likes you that goes a long way. good luck out there, hopefully the junior market doesnt get completely gutted by AI lol

wish there was marginofalpha when i was an undergrad, guys who made it clearly know their shit and have the network of questions

Margin of alpha is known to be a complete scam. AVOID at all costs. I bought it and half the answers were wrong.

how easy is it to lateral from a bb to eb? coming in to summer at a low tier bb and want to have more rigorous experience

interview for laterals and things are definetely recently more competitive, market got a bit better early last year but things don’t look great at the moment. Still slots open but much more on the competitive side esp in EBs
