Resources to Learn Real-World Models
How do I learn how to actually model? I've done a modeling course and know how the three statements flow into each other and how to determine valuation. But I don't know how to do it in the sense of a real company.
For example, which line items do I need to forecast from the income statement and balance sheet? I see a huge laundry list of items but don't know how granular I should get in the model. Also, where can I find the assumptions from? I have a general understanding about the industry but not well enough to put specific numbers out all the way to 2029 or later. It just seems like I'm making up numbers at a certain point.
