Results Day Nightmare

Results day went absolutely terribly. I’ve missed both my LSE and Warwick Economics offers. My grades were BBD. My Dad is now forcing me to take the army > MBA approach, because he thinks I lack work ethic. A gap year is completely off the cards in the current climate. Through clearing I’ve got a place at notts Trent, but are springs and summers even possible with BBD? Any advice would mean a lot to me.

why dont you do retakes? BBD is not good at all and Notts Trent is not worth going to either. Doubt a top MBA would accept you with BBD either tbh and im not even sure its such a well trodden path in UK as it is in America where its quite comment.

Do you know how this came about? what about appealing? was just reading an article on guarding how loads of exams got reduced 1-2 grades through an algorithm.

really sorry to hear this. must have been crushing news. I guess LSE would have been AAA* or something and Warwick AAA?

also you can always do volunteering / travel / etc in gap year to be more interesting have a better story. doesnt necessarily need to be working in a bank etc.

Have you looked at non-Economics courses in clearing? Better to study Sociology at Warwick than Economics at Trent. A lot of good universities are very lenient in clearing - especially for non-desirable courses.

It is possible to get internships with BBD, but as you can imagine you would have to significantly make up for it elsewhere. If you are on a 4 year course you could re-sit in your 1st year, before applying to springs in your 2nd.

Go for the army route. LBS/Insead/H/S/W will give you a great shout at mbb or a BB/EB
