Return SA Offer in Writing?

My friend worked as a SA as a sophomore. She would want to return to same firm next summer. Boss called up and extended return summer offer over the phone about a week after the internship ended. (This is standard protocol for the firm since they do not tell you until after you are finished.)

However, my friend has not yet received anything in writing and it has been another week after that phone call from her boss. Should she call or email HR? I assume that her firm's HR is busy with full-time right now, but am wondering the best course of action.

By your friend I assume you mean yourself?

Whatever, I'd wait until this Friday and if still nothing send an email Sunday night so it'll be one of the first things they see Monday morning.
