Rising sophomore trying to understand SA recruiting timelines.

I’m a rising sophomore at BIG10 school. When is the appropriate time to start cold emailing bankers for networking calls? The earlier the better? Never had anyone in my family or friend group go into finance so any advice on recruiting/networking would be helpful.

Earlier the better for sure. Your recruitment will be in full swing in just a couple of months, so a head start would be a great idea. I kept an excel file with spreadsheets for each bank, along with banker names, titles, and emails that I reached out to. I'd update it based on if I heard back or not and whether or not we scheduled a call. Seems futile but it's helpful to keep track of who you're emailing so you don't accidentally email the same person multiple times, which obviously isn't a great look. Best of luck.
