Hi All -
Anyone have any insight as to how taking the bank private could affect the business/future prospects? Any employee insights?
I read that perhaps this will allow senior bankers to collect more cash bonus vs. stock, but I am more focused on a junior/mid-level perspective.
Generally, it seems like the trend has been for banks to go public and not the reverse.
Essentially, business will become more long term focused rather than short term profit targets - this is v good in long run for comp at all levels (especially senior bankers). This is because the family can afford to pay people more and make less money in order to retain the best talent. Also reduces chances of any headcount reduction (altho this is already rare at Rothschild). Profit incentive for the Rothschild family is lower than a public market or typical private investor so they'll be using the firm to exert their influence and power rather than maximising profits only and so will try and win influential deals and high profile deals rather than purely maximising fees only.
Probably higher bonuses across all levels
