Rothschild Off Cycle 2025 London

Just received an AC for this with a start date of Sept 2025. The AC consists of a group exercise, individual case study, and a one on one interview. If anyone has done the AC before I'd really appreciate some guidance as well as any insights into the interviewees to offer ratio.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights and tips for Assessment Centers (ACs) and Rothschild-related processes:

  1. Structure of the AC:

    • Group Exercise: Focus on collaboration and communication. Demonstrate leadership without dominating the discussion. Be sure to listen actively and contribute meaningfully.
    • Individual Case Study: This typically involves analyzing a scenario or financial data and presenting your findings. Brush up on your technical skills, especially in areas like DCF, Comps, and basic M&A concepts.
    • One-on-One Interview: Expect a mix of fit, behavioral, and technical questions. Be prepared to discuss your resume, motivations, and technical knowledge. Understanding accounting, valuation methods, and LBO basics is crucial.
  2. Preparation Tips:

    • Technical Knowledge: Ensure a solid grasp of accounting, DCF, Comps, and LBOs. Familiarity with merger models can also be helpful.
    • Behavioral Questions: Practice common fit and behavioral questions. Reflect on your experiences and prepare structured answers using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
    • Presentation Skills: For the case study, practice presenting your analysis clearly and concisely. Structure your arguments logically and back them with data.
  3. Interviewees to Offer Ratio:

    • While specific ratios for Rothschild's ACs aren't detailed in the WSO dataset, it's common for ACs to have competitive selection rates. Success often depends on standing out in all components of the AC.
  4. General Advice:

    • Networking and understanding the firm's culture can give you an edge.
    • Stay calm and composed during the AC. Confidence and professionalism go a long way.

Good luck with your Assessment Center!
