SA 2020 Recruiting Experience

Hey guys, I understand recruiting for summer 2020 has started for most companies and am confused on the exact timeline. I go to a semi-target (Cornell, Michigan, Berkeley) and am double majoring in STEM and econ. I have one irrelevant internship experience freshman summer and one related this upcoming summer. Should I be applying to these programs now or wait until post summer when my internship is complete? I feel that applying late would put me at a disadvantage. Following up, a few companies have been on campus for networking events. Am I correct in understanding that networking is by far the most important part in recruiting? Also, does anyone know if S&T, AM, and HF all follow a similar timeline? I apologize, considering this is an IB forum.

Thanks for your help!
