SA Merrill Lynch GIR to FT BB IB?

I have accepted a SA role at BAML as a generalist in their research team. Can anyone give me an insight into how would this impact my chances of getting a FT IB job next year? Also what you would do to secure an IB offer in the future and what factors do you think might come into play?

Thank you!

Would strongly consider bailing and taking your Mizuho IB offer you mentioned in the other thread if you want to to IB full time. In my view that was the pretty clearly correct option -- if you want to do IB, intern in IB.

I did not read the other thread, but this would be the way to go. Stop looking at brand names. IB at a "no-name" boutique in the middle of nowhere>>>>>BB PWM internship if your end goal is IB.
