SA no overtime?
I just got an offer for a top BB firm in investment banking as a SA, and it turns out we’re not being paid for overtime work
The letter literally says “role is not eligible for overtime pay”, and I know we’re still being paid an absurdly large amount, but I was just curious if this was industry standard for SA positions. Ik at my firm that IB people work 80-90 hours regularly, so it’s a bummer that we won’t be paid at all for the overtime. Does anyone know why this might be / if this is true at all BBs?

Most finance roles are on salary and structured to be exempt from overtime.
