Sa reference check

Hi, I just got an offer for IBD this summer and I am very excited. However, I have one previous boss who I had been trying to contact for several weeks but to no avail. He might have moved out of the country and left the company. Another one of mine when I managed to ask him if he could provid details of my internship, he explicitly said no. It was such a surprise since he didn't really like me at all ( i slacked off a bit, i am sorry and thats why i didn't get offer to return). Will this affect my employment? I would cry if it does. Thanks alot!

You could consider asking him simply to confirm the dates of your internship if contacted by your summer firm. He he says "no" again, then you've done your due diligence. You'll be fine.

Yup thank you for your reply. i will try to ask him again. Hopefully he didn't provide unnecessary info abt my performance when not asked. What about the other boss that I fail to remain in contact with? Thanks,
