Best divisions at Santander at the moment? More specifically UK/EU but also interesting to hear from US as well.

GDF (especially structured finance) and GTB given the nature of the bank being a balance sheet bank.
I do occasionally see them on some project finance stuff in the US.
Spoke with a couple of bankers at Santander and I think going forward the best divisions are going to be the top legacy CS groups. So think like sponsors, levfin and M&A. These groups are almost if not entirely made up of ex-CS folks and didn't really exist at Santander a couple months ago. Other groups like consumer, tech and ECM/DCM have also been heavily beefed up as well. Overall, not a bad place to be, and they're continuing to invest hundreds of millions in the IB arm.
M&A teams will just always be a better team to be at than say Payments, that being said Santander is comparatively stronger in SF and GTB. That being said ofc I’d take an offer in M&A over any of those
