Santander REGAL

I’m in REGAL at a bulge (think Citi, BofA, Wells) and just saw Santander was M&A advisor on the Golden Entertainment take private. Know they’ve led a few REGAL financings but advisory is new. Really impressive print given they didn’t exist a year ago. Anyone have any insight into the group?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Santander's involvement as an M&A advisor on the Golden Entertainment take-private deal is indeed notable, especially considering their relatively recent entry into advisory. While Santander has historically been more active in REGAL financings, this move into advisory signals a potential strategic expansion of their capabilities in the space.

Given that they didn’t have a significant presence in advisory a year ago, this could reflect a deliberate effort to build credibility and compete in the M&A advisory market. It’s worth keeping an eye on their trajectory, as this deal could be a stepping stone for further growth in the advisory domain. If you're in REGAL at a bulge bracket, this development might be worth monitoring to see how Santander positions itself against more established players.
