I recently came across the 'SBA Underwriting' division at WF, though I've never heard of it - I assume it's part of the commercial bank. I understand they underwrite small business loans, but that's it. What's the general opinion on these groups?

It's commercial banking. If that's what you want then WF is cerrtanly a great place to do it. It's not gonna get you to HF/PE or anything like that...
