Second coffee interview a year later

Hi guys - I am a few years out of school now I graduated from a super non-target in August 2014. I have been in an operations role (think trade processing/settlement /reconciliation) on the buy side for a little over a year. After being in my current role for about a month or two, I had a coffee meeting with a family friend who is a partner at a big four firm. We caught up, developed a more professional relationship, and agreed to meet again after I had a bit more experience in my current position.

I touched base with him again recently and scheduled breakfast to fill him in on my current pursuits. I am not looking for any handouts, but I would really like to leverage this meeting into an interview. Any advice/success stories turning coffee meetings into interviews?
