Is it very common for long term investment bankers to take short secondments for development purposes (i.e. from M&A to ECM for 6 months)? I weaseled my way into an industry group after several years in the industry - I would like to do something like that but maybe its irrelevant in my case? I like the group I got into and would want to stay, so wouldn't want to give the impression I want out either.
