Severe injury few weeks before starting FT

I recently sustained several injuries from an automobile accident that will take 8-10 weeks to heal. The injuries are severe enough that they will prevent me from being able to be on the desk. I am bound to start training at a BB in a few weeks. As a result, I will miss all of training and my first official couple weeks on the desk at the minimum.

I plan to talk to HR very soon, but before I do so, I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this/know what my options are going forward.

Specifically, I'm worried I will not be allowed to work without training.
